Our last night with the kids.

What's better than hot dogs and s'mores over a campfire? Then during the night a severe storm came through-- lightning, thunder, inches of rain-- both outside and inside both tents! We found out our beloved tent does much better in the desert. We finally got up between lightning flashes and pulled a plastic drop cloth over our tent. Seth and Julie just piled blankets and towels over the kids. And then we hunkered down to wait it out. It was a storm like I have never experienced before!! And left us with wet, muddy equipment and bedding. So we will find a laundromat today. Wash and dry stuff. And head north/ northwest and see what's out here! We loved being with Seth and Julie and the kids! And we are sad knowing that it could be another year before we see them again. Love you guys! AND--happy birthday to my middle daughter! You bring such joy to my life and make me so proud. Love
you Liz!

Minus the storm it sounds like you guys had a fun vacation.

It was such a great trip, and even the storms made for a good story, right? I can't wait to get all the pictures you took and add them to the 350 I took. Must've been a great trip if we needed a camera that many times.
