It's been quite a while since I posted so thought I would catch up a bit. We moved into the house last week. Family and new ward members came to help. Aspen and her friend Amy (Sarah's best friend's daughter) did a day care at grandma-grandma's so the adults could work. Thanks girls!! I didn't take any pictures though so here are just a few random ones. This and the one of the back of a sofa are our basement--there are two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a family room and the beginnings of a small kitchen. The bathtub?? That's my great soaker tub in the master bath. Liz is going to sneak in some time when we are gone just to try it out!
Then on Monday ( MLK day so no school) we went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. The kids had a blast, especially in the river--
It's going to be fun being closer to family!!

Now to the place on my bucket list--Canyon de Chelly (pronounced "shay"). You can only go down one trail to the bottom unless you hire a Native American guide. So we hiked it. Only 1 1/2 mile down steep switchbacks and across rocks. A 600 foot elevation loss. Then and 12 miles straight up the same trail. But beautiful!! And thee were some ruins at the bottom. And finished up at Four Corners monument. Tony got to be in four states at the same time. Tomorrow we will probably go to Mesa Verde then head to Sarah's for a few days

From Phoenix we headed north to Route 66. Saw indian ruins. Stood on "the corner" in Winslow Arizona. We and saw the petrified first and painted desert. Then, instead of risking pulling into Chinle at night without reservations, we headed to Gallup, New Mexico. Tomorrow--Canyon de Chelly and Four Corners!

I haven't been taking pictures of our trip and don't know why. So here are a few pictures as well as one of the inside of the house.
We spent Saturday night with Brody's family and headed south after church Sunday. Helen took pictures but we didn't.
Tony has always wanted to stay at the Luxor, so we did! And were upgraded when we checked in (no charge) to a suite (700 sq feet) with a huge cloverleaf soaker tub. This morning we went and had breakfast with dr Sloan and Lila. He's not doing real well--his Parkinson's is getting worse and so is his short-term memory.
Then across the bridge at lake mead. And south. And south. We wanted to see Quartzsite AZ (google that place--it's a bit bizarre!) Then east to Phoenix where we are going to spend 2nights. We will see what's here. And after that who knows. We will at some point be "standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona". That's an old Eagles sing--Winslow is on Route 66. And I want to go to Canyon de Chelly. Then 4 corners. Then Sarah's for a visit.
We are hoping to move into the house on the 17th. And we are looking for any help we can get!
