So--this may offend some of you, but--this is how am I am and probably always will be. A spelling freak!!
One of my first "AARRGGHH" moments in Wyoming came when I drove by the grocery store, and there was a sign out front--"fresh egg's". Bout drove off the road!
And I tend to embarrass anyone I am with when I see misspelled words. Just ask Tony! But yesterday, while we were in the auto dealership waiting for our car which had been serviced, I noticed a big poster, proclaiming how "green" the dealership was. The poster was about their flooring, which used a high percent recycled items. And there it was--the errant (or, in this case, absent) apostrophe. I quote--"your walking on it!". Not you're walking on it as it should be, but your walking on it.
Come on now, how many of you even know what I'm talking about??
YOUR is POSSESSIVE--it is NOT a contraction for "you are". Your phone, your address, your money. You're here, you're the best, you're wrong about that one.
It's a pet peeve of mine.
Use an apostrophe in a contraction--when joining 2 words to make one (can't, won't, etc.) or to make a noun or pronoun show possession (Ann's).
So--pardon me blowing off a bit of steam. And don't be surprised if I start correcting the spelling on your (not you're) blog!
And sorry about the misspelled and ungrammatical stuff in this blog!

Spring, Wyoming style
The calendar says it's almost May. Isn't April supposed to bring showers?? I thought that referred to rain showers. but this is what it looked like this morning when I went to work. I am now sitting at the computer at home, listening to thunder. Oh well, the weather in Wyoming is always a surprise!!We are officially land barons--or slum lords. We have had an offer accepted on a condo in American Fork. It is still under construction and should be finished by the end of May. Then we hope we can find someone to rent it.

Phoenix sunshine
This was the view from the balcony outside our room in Scottsdale, Arizona last week. My boss and I went to Arizona for classes and a conference, and had planned to have our husbands join us for the last couple days and a long weekend there. But, with Easter that weekend, neither of them could get the time off so we decided to go down a day early. We stayed in Scottsdale at an all-suite, very reasonably priced hotel. Had two pools, a hot tub, exercise room, tennis courts, restaurant, free shuttle, and a cooked-to-order breakfast. SWEET!! Got there Monday morning and the temps were in the 80s. We got some sun, swam, took the shuttle to a local mall and shopped. Then Tracy wanted to go to a casino nearby, so off we went. I had fun watching her--the only money I spent was on ice cream, but Tracy--she had to hit the ATM!Tuesday we went to downtown Phoenix for the conference. Stayed in a brand-new Sheraton. It was nice, but after a suite with a separate bedroom, living room, wet bar with frig and microwave, and a great view from our balcony, we were disappointed by our small room (at $179/night!). And the bus-loads of noisy high-schoolers who were there for a science fair added to our disappointment. I finally called the front desk (for the second time that night) and said that either they moved or we did. Security did finally take care of the problem.
The conference was good, but by the last day we were both ready to come home. But--we hadn't been able to get a flight home Friday afternoon (unless we wanted to spend the night in an airport), so didn't come home til Saturday.
All in all, we had a good time, but it seemed like way too long to be away.
We really enjoy the family blogs. It's a great way for us to see the grandkids and feel connected to their lives. If we could only get the Enoch group to buy in!! So keep posting please.
