Rented again!

The first people who called after I posted it on KSL Classifieds got the condo. They called about 2 hours after it went up, were actually driving around trying to find it (it's not where the address makes you think it is--you want to go south from State Street, but 105 South is north of State Street), and they drove past it that night. The next day they walked through it with the help of the agent in the model home, and met us at G&G L's that evening after we got to Lehi. They brought the whole family--4 kids (and not the young, small variety!). But they are very nice, the kids are very obedient, and we felt good about them. We met with them again on Saturday before we left town, signed contracts and got a deposit.
A bit about the family--they are Samoan, have been "leasing to own" in Lehi. Came home one day to a notice of foreclosure and eviction, so they are out a lot of money and a house, and are wondering what the owner did with their money. Their oldest is playing football at Snow College and will only be home some weekends and school breaks, will go on a mission after fall semester. There is another boy who will start high school this fall, and wants to be a Caveman, not a Pioneer. Their daughter is about 11, didn't say a word. The youngest is about 8, can't wait to get in the pool at the condo. The dad is very slender, about 7 feet tall, and played basketball for BYU-Hawaii, then toured Europe for 6 years playing basketball. Mom is the sweetest thing--works for the Utah Co. Attorney's office, is the third youngest of her mom's 11 children (step-dad has 7--so 18 kids in the family, all very close!). We figure they went through the condo, know how big it is, and still want it. We also have had others interested in it, but they weren't quick enough.

It's a great relief--BUT the condo isn't finished yet, so we couldn't close on it Friday. We'll probably make a mad dash to Utah this week to sign papers. We couldn't hang the blinds or have a refrigerator delivered. And each time we go in it, we want to move into it. Not rent it for several years.
