Disney World

So now can you guess what the English kids' big surprise was? We met them in Birmingham, Alabama and they knew we were coming out to babysit while their mom & dad went on a trip. They found out the night we got there that we were going to Disney World. They didn't realize that they had paid for their own admission ticket by making blankets for Project Linus. Disney is giving away one million admissions for volunteers, and the only thing either of us could do without traveling 3 hours was make homemade blankets. So--free admission!! We had t-shirts made for them that said "I'm an Englishtree, with my G&G, having lots of fun at Disney" Unfortunately, when I washed the shirts at the hotel the next day, the dryer was apparently VERY hot, and melted the "Disney" part. Oh well--what fun we had. We stayed at the Nickelodeon Hotel, which they enjoyed almost as much as Disney. When we have a few minutes, I will do a slide show of pics. Suffice it to say, we had a BLAST, and so did the kids!

Lime away

Just a little hint--need your diamond cleaned? I was going to clean my earrings last week and couldn't find my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Since they hadn't been cleaned for a LONG time, they were pretty grungy, and the toothpaste on a toothbrush trick didn't work. So--I sprayed some Lime Away on them, let them sit a couple minutes, then a quick brush and they are sparkling like new. Did my ring today--looks better than new! I keep Lime Away for those hard water marks on sinks, tubs, etc. and to shine the chrome and fixtures--spray, brush and rinse. But now I am keeping it for my jewelry! Thought I'd pass this little hint on--

A big surprise

I don't have pictures this time, but just wait a week or so! Several months ago, Sarah asked if we'd come out and watch the kids so she and Jonathon could have a 10th anniversary trip. After agreeing, getting the time off, and starting to plan fun stuff to do with the kids in Tennessee, Southwest Airlines had a fabulous but very brief sale. My mind starting clicking, and with Sarah on the phone, we started hatching plans. I can't reveal all (in case there are grandkids reading this!), but while Sarah and Jonathon go to South Padre Island in Texas (by Corpus Christi, almost to Mexico), we'll be spending a "magical" time with the 3 Englishtrees! And even though there is a prediction of 70 degrees and showers (??where you ask?? Stay tuned in a few days!!), we are prepared for a blast with the kids!! We started a tradition with sets of grandkids a few years ago (yes, this is another hint to you adults), and this will be our 3rd time with a grandkids "magical" time with G&G. Suffice it say that Walt (think of a last name) built this place just for us!!

Bit and pieces and pictures too

Here are just a few pictures from the last couple weeks. Does Mr. Potato Head remind you of anyone? Suffice it to say that E & E said "grandpa Polla" when they saw it! And that awful sign?? Was in the SENIOR CENTER in Rock Springs. Not that I frequent the place--was just taking some posters there. UGH!!

And here's a picture of Emily outside the Vernal Temple. It was our ward temple day, so she went with us.

Julie's Blog isn't updating

If you want to read the Wisconsin Johnson family's blog, just click on it. It's not updating on the sidebars. I had that problem a few months ago and can't remember what fixed it. I think I cleared the cache. But not sure if anything else but time fixed it. If any of you have any suggestions, post them on her blog. But for now, it's there, it's updated, it's just not updating on the sidebars.

Seth and Julie

HOORAY!! nitecruzr (whoever that is) answered my question about posting photos on my blog. I wasn't getting the pics, just strings of numbers and letters. WOW!! All I had to do was click "compose" instead of "edit Html" at the top!
And--since Julie wouldn't post this pic of the happy couple at Disneyland just before the wedding, I will. Hope all will look at it and enjoy it as much as I did.
I will post more of my Cedar City Christmas pics as soon as I get a chance.
