Tony's mom

Just to let you know--Tony's mom in Cleveland has deteriorated very rapidly. As of last week, he was going to go out for his dad's 95th birthday the end of March. Then, on Saturday, she seemed to take a turn for the worse, so he made plans to go out this Friday for a long weekend. Then today, his 2 daughters (one a nurse, the other with a master's in radiology) went to visit their grandma. Tony got the text--"Come now". So he's flying out tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Got the last ticket on the 7:45 am flight. It's a one way ticket--don't know when he will come back--or when I will be make a trip out for a funeral. And--his dad's got aspiration pneumonia and is not doing too well. We talked last night, and remembered how blessed we have been to have both sets of parent still with us. And we have grandchildren who know their great-grandparents, and will remember them. And we have been blessed with that great invention--the credit card!! We have been praying for Tony's folks to be comforted, and for strength to accept what happens. We have been comforted by the knowledge of where his folks will be, and we know we can look forward to being with them again. Keep us and them in your prayers.

I'm so sorry mom and Tony. I hope he was able to make it out in time to say goodbye.

Our love is with you both, and may God attend you, Tony, as you travel, that the weather and the elements deliver you safely there. You're in our prayers.

It is wonderful that you can see the blessing in being able to have all of your parents still here, but it can't ever be easy to say goodbye to your mom. You are in our prayers. I also hope Tony makes it in time to be by her side, and we will pray for his dad as well.
