JJQOTW: What was your best Thanksgiving like? Where were you? What did you do?

Thanksgiving, 1998, THE THANKSGIVING WITHOUT A TURKEY!!

It seems like Thanksgivings run together--all you can remember is that you ate turkey and pumpkin pie. The places and years are mere blurs. But--Thanksgiving 1998 was a totally different one for us.

That year, we decided to spend Thanksgiving in Disneyland. We flew into John Wayne/Orange County Airport. Stayed at a Best Western near Disneyland. They had just decorated the park for Christmas, and had the Christmas tree up, the Christmas parade, and it was so festive!

We went to the park our first day there, and it was nearly empty. We had checked with the park before we went, and they had told us that Thanksgiving Day was a traditionally slow day at the park. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!! It was as crowded as I've ever seen!.


On Thanksgiving Day, we decided to have a traditional turkey dinner in one of the restaurants in the park. WRONG!! The lines were horrendous.









So, instead of a nice, traditional dinner, we went to ToonTown, and got our dinner from one of the vendors.

HOT DOGS FOR THANKSGIVING!! It was so much fun!














Would we do it again?? In a heart-beat! We found out that year that it doesn't matter what you have or where you are as long as you have Thanksgiving in your heart.
















So Julie, if you don't want turkey for Thanksgiving, I will get you some HOT DOGS!!

And in just a few days, we will be with Seth and family and Sarah and family in Wisconsin. What better way to spend Thanksgiving than with kids and grandkids??
